The location of the River Bend Aero Ranch places you in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains and close to Mena, Arkansas providing you a wide variety of attractions that make this area a favorite for vacation destination.

Motorcycle Touring

The Headquarters for the Christian Motorcyclists Association is in nearby Hatfield, Arkansas with thousands of enthusiasts visiting each year to enjoy the beauty of the Ouachita Mountains.  A favorite ride is the Talimena Scenic Drive, high on top of the Ouachita Mountain Range, taking you past many scenic overlooks where you can view the beautiful Kiamichi Valley.  Visit the Queen Wilhelmina State Park and the National Forest Botanical area.  We welcome all bikers, where you can either stay in the Cottage at a very reasonable fee, or set up your tent. 

The Ouachita River Canoeing, Kayaking, Fishing and Swimming

The River Bend Aero Ranch provides easy access to the Ouachita River where you can swim, fish, canoe, or kayak on the river.  We provide Canoe and Shuttle Service. 

Hiking and Mountain Biking

Just a short drive and hikers and mountain bikers can access trailheads to the Womble Trail at Oden, Arkansas or the Earthquake Ridge Trail in Mena, Arkansas, or the Ouachita Trail just outside of Mena, Arkansas on Hwy 71.  We are conveniently located near the start of the Ouachita Challenge.

Equestrian Trails

Bring your horse or mule, and enjoy riding the trails around the River Bend Aero Ranch, or visit one of the several nearby Equestrian Trails in the Ouachita National Forest. 

ATV Trails

The River Bend Aero Ranch location places you near the Wolf Pen Gap ATV Trails.  Although we do not have appropriate trails at the ranch, this still makes for an excellent place to camp or lodge in the cottage removing you from the crowded campgrounds. 

Talimena Scenic Drive

The Talimena Scenic Byway is a must see during the changing of the colors in the Ouachita Mountains. There are many scenic overlooks and the route takes you from Mena, Arkansas to Talihina, Oklahoma, past the Queen Wilhelmina State Park, and the National Forest Botanical Center. 

Restaurants

Enjoy a burger at the Cherry Hill Store.  Just one mile from the airfield.  For you pilots, you will enjoy your $100 dollar burger.  A short drive into Mena, and you will find several fine restaurants providing, Chinese, Steak and Fish, Mexican, Italian, and more.
